This “Free Standing” wing chun wooden dummy model is perfect for training in limited spaces like Apartments, Condo’s, Dorm Rooms, etc. Unlike traditional Mook Jongs that require wall mounting and take up a lot of space, this Free Standing wing chun wooden dummy can be placed anywhere with no installation required. This model is adjustable for height and comes with additional shims (optional). Our wooden dummy is constructed using traditional measurements. The body as well as the arms have offset shafts. Traditional Wing Chun Wooden Dummys usually have staggered arms where the left arm is usually higher than the right arm. With our wooden dummy you can choose to have the arms staggered or level simply by rotating one of the arms. This gives you more flexibility and training options over the competition. Our wing chun wooden dummies attach to the free stand base by sliding down onto a 14″ 3×3 post that is attached at the base. The stand alone weighs approximately 40 pounds and is very sturdy without adding any additional weight to it. This dummy can also be mounted outdoors by simply burying a shaved 4×4 post into the ground and sliding the dummy down onto it giving you the ultimate training flexibility. Total assembled height is 5′ 6″ tall. The base is a rectangle shape and measures 24″ wide by 36″ deep by 4″ tall , and the total combined weight is approximately 135 pounds.

Wow, this Muk Jong is awesome! I wasn’t sure if it would be stable enough at first but after training on it for the last week I’ve become a believer in Shaolin House products. This thing is really nice. It feels like I’m working on a frame mount without having to screw it into a wall. I live in an apartment which is why i chose this model to begin with. It’s very stable even when I’m kicking it and I love the “feel” of it when I’m striking it or applying a technique. It doesn’t feel like a dead jong that doesn’t have any movement. This thing is really well built, has an awesome finish on it, and looks great in my living room. In a world where consumers are constantly disappointed in both service and quality of product, it is a fantastic feeling to actually have a company OVER deliver. It is impossible for me to be more pleased with my new Dummy! Eric, thank you so much for the time, effort and quality craftsmanship you put into this! This is more of a piece of art than a training tool, but let me tell you, I work the form very hard and the best part of this is that not only is it absolutely stunning, but I can’t believe how durable and sturdy it is! I will tell anyone that reads this to buy one! I searched the Internet for months and finally decided on Shaolin House and man am I glad I did. I can’t believe the quality and for the price you pay it is truly more than worth it. If I would have seen this Jong in person before I ordered, I would’ve paid hundreds more and waited 6 months for it to ship. If someone put a gun to my head and said to pick one negative in the entire experience I would only be able to come up with the fact that when you screw the tendon to the base it is a little difficult. But to be honest the reason it’s difficult is because the tendon is hard as a rock, which is actually a positive! Once that is locked down, it’s not going anywhere! Thanks again, Shaolin House! I look forward to years and years of pleasure with this incredible piece of equipment! If I ever open up a youtube account and upload a video, my first video will be a glowing review of this dummy so that more people are drawn to this sight to see these!

Hi Eric,
Just wanted to say that the Muk Yah Jong (Wooden Dummy) was perfect. UPS Delivery worked out great – the delivery guy was nice enough to help me get it in the house. Once opened and arms added I was able to carry it easily through the house to where I wanted it mounted. Not bad for a 61 year old lol
Your suggestions in mounting the Jong on a plasterboard wall was spot on. I added the wood you recommended for dry wall support and it came out great. Attached are pictures of it although I didn’t get to paint the added wood yet. The way you suggested to setup the Jong makes it easy for me to move the brackets closer for increased strength and resistance when needed. As a first year completed Moy Yat Wing Chun student this will assist me with practice and later learning the form as well. I have been reviewing the suggested DVD to practice and will coordinate the exercises with those provided by my Sifu.
As a reminder, my son has your free standing Jong which worked out perfect for him since he wanted it in his living room and didn’t have the wall space for mounting. So as a family we have the variations already.
So again many thanks to you and all those who work with you on the Jongs. Anyone searching for quality should check out Shaolin House first.

Shaolin House has made a great training tool. I have owned this Wooden Dummy for almost a year now and have had no problems with it. The only thing I would be careful about is when you push in the arms after the double juts. I can generate enough force where it might break. Again the dummy should be used for position and feeling not brute force. The leg is constructed where just by kicking it you will never break it. I have had some very minor cracking but with the application of oils the cracks have sealed up. This is made out of real wood so these kind of things are expected. If you are renter this is a great dummy to have because you do not have to drill into the walls. Again this is a great product and I recommend it often to my fellow Wing Chun practitioners looking to get a jong.

The portable Wing Chun Wooden Dummy is fantastic. Great quality which makes you feel good about the purchase you just made. Its craftsmanship give you the right “feel” as you work through the wooden dummy sets. In addition to the empty hand forms, I can work on sensitivity, range of motion, and application of energy to the centerline of the dummy. All of which will benefit my Wing Chun for when I go into class and actually share energy with my Wing Chun Brothers. Its portability is also a huge bonus: If you have limited space, don’t own a home or just want to set it up outside for a training session on a beautiful day, you can do it all.
